Children’s Specialist

Assessment-based certificate program for instructors who specialize in teaching children. CS1 requires completion of the online course 48 hours prior to the on-snow clinic.

Certification Levels

Prerequisites

Children's Specialist 1 certificate
PSIA-AASI Level II certification in any discipline (Adaptive, Alpine, Cross Country, Snowboard or Telemark)
Complete the CS2 workbook and quiz a minimum of 48 hours prior to the on-snow clinic

Assessment Modules

Advanced children's pedagogy
Developmental stage adaptation
Program design

Multi-disciplinary event (cross country CS events are held separately due to terrain requirements).
Participants demonstrate integration of the CAP model with movement analysis and teaching activities for children in the Intermediate and Advanced Zones, plus people skills with students and parents/guardians.

Professional Knowledge Exam

The CS2 workbook and quiz must be completed a minimum of 48 hours prior to attending the on-snow clinic.
